Stag Night
April 8, 2004 at The Hard Rock Café

Fellow Pohaku boy, Mike Griffith, is the GM at the Hard Rock Café and he was able to swing an all night happy hour and discounted prices for pupus. Following are some of the moments that we caught on film:

Golf Tournament
Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Olomana Golf Course

Here are the firsts and worsts: Mel Andres had best net score of 58 (yes, 58) Alan Kau had the best gross score of 77. That shouldn't be a surprise. Mike Fisher had the dubious distinction of topping Mav for Worst Score (think combined score of game 3 of the NBA finals minus 33) and Mike Dang had the longest drive of the day with a 300+ yard blast. What's interesting to note is that Mike was using an old driver with a funky green shaft. It just goes to show that it's not the tool but the mechanic.

Nobody won the hole in one car. Man, if you saw that Par 3, you would've wanted to cheat on that hole. Greenies went to Pat Wallace, Russ Awana, Mel Andres, and Mike Dang. They win $40 for their efforts. Oh yeah, the party at Mel's house was good too. Mel's house is a party house; he had a pool and an inflatable jump for the kids. My daughter didn't want to go home. BIG MAHALOS to: Scotty Gonsalves for planning the event. Kimo Yamaguchi along with his assistants, Rey Mopas, Barry Surell, Garret Kojima and Ed Sato for the good grinds. I especially liked the poke that had the roe and mayonnaise type sauce. That was ONOLICIOUS! Recipe? Anyone? Mel Andres for sacrificing his house. Additional Mahalos to Damien Jamila for the green fees, Neil Nakamura, Kevin Wong, Mav/Patti Jo Chong, Kimo Yamaguchi, and Brad Johnson/Sweetie Pacarro for the prizes, Mr. Almodova for the pics and old division shirts, and Mike Stoebner of Honda Windward for the hole in one car.
