Kanalui - SLH Class of 1971 30th Reunion Recap

Well another chapter in the 30th reunion year is over. The Waterpark and Picnic was great fun for those that attended. Classmates John Tokunaga, Doug Wenberg, Frank Ruff, David Beinke, Kaipo Spencer, Doug Won, Bruce Arola, Mitchell Kawamura, Joe Lau, Bob Hall, Kevin Chong Kee, Neal Otani, Joe Hu, and yours truly and their families enjoyed the rides and games at The Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park and Lanikuhonua at Ko Olina. We enjoyed talking story with all local and the mainland classmates and meeting their families. With the exception of a few bruised bums and some major wedges, glad to say that all classmates survived the Cliffhanger, Big Kahuna, Typhoon, Lava Tube and Shaka. The weather was just perfect with sunshine and light trade winds. At the picnic everyone participated in the mongoose, myna bird and papaya tree, and water balloon games. We also had our traditional produce dash with kids and parents dashing for papayas, head cabbages, onions, potatoes, pineapples, bananas and apples. A big mahalo to Kevin Chong Kee and wife Roberta, John Tokunaga, Neal Otani, David Beinke, Howard Lau, Doug Won, Bob Moritsugu, Joe Hu, Joe Blanco, Al Yim and Alan Young for their generous donations.  Next and final event is the Las Vegas trip. See you all in Sept. Take care!
