Class of 1980
25th Anniversary Reunion
Reported by Vernon Young

We've been busy trying to locate fellow '80 Crusaders and are making great progress. We strongly encourage all classmates to join the SLAA - it's a great way to stay current and up to date on all of the latest "scoops". Additionally, we are proud to announce our very own class website. You can access via the SLAA website as well. Mahalo plenty to Robert Tapia for his efforts. If you haven't checked it out yet you may do so at www.slh1980.com. Sign up and update your contact information. Pass the info along to other classmates you may be in contact with. Check out the event tabs for upcoming activities.

We started the year off by hosting the 3rd Annual Ohana luau in April at the school. Approximately fifty classmates and families attended the gala affair. Shawn locked in some solid performers as "Touch of Gold" entertained the crowd for hours. Mel Cabang kept us in stitches as the masterful MC. John Ornellas led the stage decorations, but was helped by Dean Yoro and Randy Pacheco. Keo Ryan can be seen delicately positioning his flower arrangement as well. Mark Brilhante had to provide emergency lomi lomi to Keo, but happy to report Keo has fully recovered. Needless to say all had a great time.

Our next class event was the 2005 Commencement at the Neal Blaisdell Center on 28 May. Sixteen classmates proudly watched as one of our own classmates son won top academic honors. Congrats to the proud papa - Alan Villanueva. Our class was also recognized for our silver anniversary. Yes, that's me proudly displaying my silver diploma. Eh, you git yourz? If not, let us know and we'll make sure you get one. After the Ceremonies a hand full of classmates paid a visit to the SLAA Clubhouse and rehearsed for the next American Idol competition. Vernon Young with Diploma Patrick & Ronnie The reunion committee has worked tirelessly to make our 25th a huge success. Thanks to Shawn Santos and his team for their hard work and dedication. So gang - let's not let another 25 years slip away - let's make an effort to keep in touch and perhaps participate in a school improvement project in the new year. Hope to see you at Aloha stadium for a football game. Godspeed, God bless and a hui hou.
